I first read this book in the mid-70s when it was adopted as part of a set of supplementary readers for public schools in Texas. I used it as part of my 6th Grade Language Arts class in 1979, and the students loved it! I've continued to use this book every year since, as an integral part of my L. A. curriculum. It never fails to make kids LOVE mythology. The writer's style is easy to read, and the focus on action in the stories always captures the kids' interest. The version we have at our school contains a wealth of information about the mythological origins of many common English words, and the students always enjoy that, too. Each year the students pick their favorite story to present to the class in a creative way. The hands-down favorite each year is "Why Mulberries are Red." It's my personal favorite, too!Kudos to the author for providing 22+ years of fun for my classroom!
Superb Retelling of Greek Myths

Although I am perhaps biased because my grandmother authored this book, I grew up adoring its vividly exciting stories and I adore them even as an adult. This is honestly the most well-written book on the Greek myths that I have ever read.
Great book on Greek Mythology, Easy to Read, Very Entertaini

I read this book when I was 10 years old and it taught me to enjoy reading. I read the book cover to cover over a period of 2-3 months and found the stories very entertaining. The easy to read text and shortness of stories helped me to regain an appreciation of reading that continued with me to today and I am now 51 years old.
