The Mac reference book you don't want to miss

This book is sort of like a gift from the gods to us Mac users; it's the book I've been waiting for. After waiting two years for an update to the book (so much has happened in the Mac world during these two years), it's finally here.Covering every new Mac model, including my Titanium PowerBook G4, I also learnt a lot of new facts about the OS's that were released. On the new products and new content coverage: at least a third to a half of what was on the book were things I never knew about. If you've been 'staying out' of the Mac world for some time (or haven't been well informed for quite a while) and need only one book to replenish your knowledge and to bring you up to date, this would be the one. Worth every penny!David Pogue and Joseph Schorr should be congratulated for starting this masterpiece and keeping it alive and updated.

THIS BOOK SHOULD SHIP WITH EVERY NEW MAC

Yes, it's THAT good. I've read the Mac Bible, The Mac is Not a Typewriter, and Sad Macs, Bombs, and Disasters. While each of the aforementioned books are worthy in their own right, I felt that Macworld Mac Secrets was simply the most comprehensive, covered the most useful subjects, and of course, had the best STUFF on the CD. I used the 2nd edition on a fairly regular basis with my old Performa 6100, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use this current edition. As a matter of fact, I plan on buying the NEXT edition when IT hits the shelves next month. There is some useless trivia (like what note each Mac starts up in) which I could have done without, but, on the whole, this is a very thorough reference that no Mac user should be without.

One Book That Mac Fans Must Buy

I find that "Macworld Mac and PowerMac secrets" shows me the coolest secrets and tricks of the Mac. The typical humor of Pogue and Schorr make this book the best. I have never read anything better than this book. I read it anywhere -- even in bed, lights off, torch on, browsing through the book, and occasionally giggling at the stupendous humor. If I was to go anywhere with only one Mac book, this would surely be it...thank you, David Pogue and Joseph Schorr! This is an excellent book I'd recommend to anyone!

A "must-have" for the serious and not so serious Mac hack.

I've been working exclusively on the Mac for nearly seven years, yet each chapter of this book unlocked another great time saver or just plain fun secret! It also demystifies technically cryptic computer jargon. It's a logically structured, easy read. Chapters cover the basics to the advanced. Macintosh unraveled from memory to modem! The included CD-ROM contains very useful items such as ResEdit and File Buddy, that allow you to roll up your sleeves and dig around inside your programs. A true treat from beginning to end! I can't wait to read their next edition

As good as it gets!

As the owner of a Mac computer company this is one book I love to have on hand. It just doesn't get any better! Never again will someone come into my store thinking they know something I don't. It's the best book for computers I've bought in years
