Just what you need

I just returned from taking the CFMX 7 Developer Exam and passed! Ben did an excellent job (as he always does) with laying out the key concepts and things you need to pay attention to for the exam. This book is a must read! Other resources I recommend using: 1. Web Application Construction Kit for CFMX7 - there are "little" things noted here that are not in the study guide that proved very handy. 2. CFMX Exam Buster (from CentraSoft) - tons of questions in a test-type environment. 3. EXPERIENCE!!! Nothing beats hands-on experience. Take the concepts in the books and build a couple of sample apps to see them in action. All in all, the study guide was an excellent guide (no pun intended) in breaking down concepts and preparing for the test. Thanks Ben for your great work and contributions to CF!

Couldn't have become Advanced Certified without this book!

Ben Forta's deep experience and practical application overflows from the pages of this book that I highly recommend. Well Written

most chapter's are only 10 pages or less long so you can sit down for 5 minutes read a chapter then come back and read another chapter later as it helps to read a whole chapter at oncewhere as some books are like 40 pages per chapter and ya need to sit down with a fair bit of time just to read the chapter

A review guide that provides helpful pointers

Ben Forta's Certified Coldfusion 5 Developer Study Guide will not teach ColdFusion, but will be a review guide that provides helpful pointers for examinees. The book's look will be non-intimidating yet thorough, and will be highly readable in small bite-sized chunks. Each subject will be presented in a clear and direct language, with useful and well explained code examples. Sample questions will accompany each subject, as will references to recommended reading, product documentation, Macromedia course work, and existing ColdFusion books. 432 pp. Intermediate-Advanced user level.

A great reference tool/study aid.

Ben Forta definitely hit a home run with this book. I am impressed with how much information was packed into such a small book. I have not taken the CF (ColdFusion) certification test as of yet, but I feel a lot better prepared for it now. The chapters are loaded with good information, and are seriously condensed (no fluff, or unnecessary garbage to increase the number of pages). The quizzes at the end of the chapters are excellent. These questions are by far more difficult than anything else I have seen on CF certifications (i.e. the CF certification web site, and the CF_Buster test prep). In addition, this book is a great reference guide. If you are unsure of how to do something in CF, this book more than likely will tell you how it can be done. This book offers a lot more than I would expect from a book that's under 400 pages. If you want to prepare for the certification test, buy this book; or, if you just want to take your CF knowledge to the next level, buy this book.
