this book is a best choice for the first year postgraduates. it explains the IS-LM model and AS-AD model and introduces the rational expectations.

The best

No doubt, this is the very best link between basic and advanced macroeconomics. It's the more comprehensive and high quality handbook. I recomend it.

Comprehensive

This is one of the best "Introduction to Macroeconomics" books I've ever read. It's well structured, comprehensive and understandable. It also explains the mathematical and analytical framework of the theories introduced in the book very well.
