I have been working in nutrition since I got my degree in dietetics in 2013. Now as a registered dietitian, my job is to teach. This book is a concise compilation of some of the things I provide my clients when they work with me. One of the first things I do with my clients is teach them how to track their macros. I believe tracking your intakes is one of the most effective ways to put nutrition labels right into your hands in a useable way. Tracking everything you eat and drink is not something that should be done forever. But it can be very hard to know how to "intuitively eat" and give your body what it needs if you don't know where your calories are coming from, or how to get enough protein, fiber, and micronutrients for your body and goals. It can also be hard to "listen to your hunger cues" if you've always under- or overate. With the right mindset, every food experience is a chance to LEARN about what food is made up of, so that you can make balanced choices down the road without tracking or weighing at all.
