Tom (Mac) MacPherson has retired from his career as a biologist and his life in the city to move to the West Coast, where he spends his days with his dog, Buddy, and the memory of his late wife, Grace. Tom has successes: he built his own beautiful house, he is a successful bronze sculptor, and he is well-liked among the locals. And yet, Tom is lonely.
