An intriguing book and the winner of the 1984 Gold Medalion Book Award. Covers the lives of three generations struggling for authenticity and honor. I found the book filled with insight and wisdom. The character of Jael could have been more fully developed. I found myself wanting to read a sequel. (There is none as far as I can tell.)
