MacFooey

MacFarland, MacFooey, MacScott immigrates from Scotland to the new world, where he sets up his kilt-making shop in an old mill that is covered with grapevines. When the grapes are ripe, MacFooey is harrassed by six bright red foxes trying to gobble up all his grapes. He tries to chase them away, but they outwit him. MacFooey is written in lyrical poetry, and is best heard out loud. It is a story of the clashing of different cultures: the man, his neighbors, and the foxes. It is a story of values and virtues. MacFooey reconsiders his selfish responses to the foxes, and has a change of heart as he remembers all that God has provided for him. He decides to adopt the foxes and serve his neighbors by opening the Scottish Fox Inn, where he and the foxes happily serve tea and cookies to children and their families.
