If you expect William Shakespeare, you actually get Victoria Hill instead.
Well, we are off and running with a different modernized version of Macbeth.
Our old hag witches have been replaced by cutie schoolgirls with malice in their hearts. Kings and queens are replaced by mob bosses and whatnot.
We have to listen to awful background music and long pauses where Shakespeare is supposed to be. When we hear Shakespeare, it is so out of place that it grates. It makes the bad guys sound like poofs.
Young witches in birthday suits are not more of a distraction than any other element of this film. It looks like they had fun making the film and forgot about Macbeth. Fast forward one hour into the film and get out your notebook. You may learn something.
They throw in a little name recognition, such as a “Bose” digital clock. The DVD I watched has no subtitles, so it pays to know the dialogue ahead of time.
I say out, d-a-m-n spot, out I say, and Sam Worthington too.
