One night in a dream he is given a majic paintbrush and he still has it when he wakes up. With this magic brush, everything he paints comes to life. He uses the magic brush to help poor people painting tools, cattle and food. Officials try to force him to paint gold for thme which Ma Liang doesnt' want to do. He cleverly paints his way out of the situation. Nicely illustrated in chinese type of illustrations. Has a nice moral of using one's gifts and abilities to better others and finding happiness in doing so by resisting evil.
