Lynchburg

By Forrest Gander

Book Overview

In Lynchburg, Forrest Gander explores the landscape of the rural South, place as an event. The major poem of the collection centers on Robert Johnson, the Delta blues musician. In agile lines that emphasize metonymy and surprise, Gander's poems ring with southern intonations sharp as the taste of quince.
