Lunatics

Based on the life of the late Judith Love Cohen, the fictionalized character, JULIE LEVINE obtained her Brooklyn College's class of 1952's college scholarship. Despite females being denied entrance to the college preparatory program at Lafayette High School, she graduated from there with honors, finished college with a degree in engineering, and earned her master's degree. While working for a NASA subcontractor, she married and had three children in between rocket launches. NASA selected her backup abort guidance system to go to the moon. At work, she met Sam Brown and as the Apollo 11 Mission approached, she discovered she was pregnant with his baby. She was one of the four original women of Apollo. Her youngest child is Jack Black, the actor and musician. Her oldest son continues her legacy in the aerospace industry and her daughter is an acclaimed businessperson. Judith's third child was a musician and record producer. He passed away from HIV AIDS in the '80s. When Elyse Wilk interviewed Judith for a magazine article, Judith asked her if she would be interested in writing more about her life's story. The exact words she used were, "You get me " and Lunatics was launched.
