I am an island girl, born and raised by my parents and grandmother, Mama Tina, in the Dominican Republic. Our family values are union, love, and respect. Mami and Papi decide to migrate to the US for a better life. When the day came to have the conversation with me, I felt confused and hurt on the idea that they were leaving, and I would stay with Mama Tina. My dream is to see my Mami and Papi again.
