I am Luke, a physician by trade, a man of knowledge, seeking

truth. I never walked with Him as the others did. I was not

there when He healed the sick, when He walked on water, or

when He called Peter from his fishing boat. But the stories

reached me-stories of a man who brought light where there

was darkness, who called sinners to repentance, who brought

hope to the hopeless.

I was not one of His disciples, but I was determined to know

the truth. That is why I set out to write this account, so that

you, too, would know the truth of what happened, so that you

would have certainty in the things you have been taught.
