This is a well-written, sometimes scandalous, memoir that reminds us that the American dream very often includes elements of a nightmare. Michael McNaney's life story is a poignant testament to the fact that each of us can wake from our particular nightmares and go on to have a meaningful life.In an age where the world's focus is on resiliency and determination, Lucky S O.B. personifies this ideal over the lifetime of the Author and his extended family. Identifying life struggles through the typical definition of success and failure does not fit for this life story. Read until the end to learn the true revelation of acceptance and understanding in this earthly world.This memoir is a relatable, captivating read. For the most part the storyline satisfactorily connects the main events. The Author did such a good job of introducing his grandfather, I wanted to hear more from/about him. He seemed too important to the narrative for his presence not to be acknowledged more often, even if for brief mentions.
