Living in a quieter time and place.

This is a great read for those who have lived or wished to live in a small community during a less complicated period of time. It is authentic, as it is written by a person who has done just that during the 1930's, 40's and 5o's. It is about life in a community situated on the edge of a grand valley, at the 5000' elevation, in the northern California Sierra Nevada. Loyalton was a 'Logging/Lumber/Ranching community'. Loyalton is still there although changed a bit since the early years. It has a great Museum that covers the history and the town and the valley well.
