The sound of my own voice dragged me from a deep
sleep. I felt dizzy even before opening my eyes.
"Tabitha! It's your mother! Take cover!"
I rolled onto my back, groping for my phone. I couldn't see it, and
as I slid my hand over the nightstand, I didn't immediately feel it.
Then something fell, clunking against the wall and the floor.
"Tabitha! It's your mother! Take cover!"
