We live in a society where image issues among women are at an all-time-high. These issues range from being treated poorly, poor body image, low self-esteem, competitive jealousy and unhealthy self-comparisons. The problem with this is that it has caused an identity crisis amongst many women in society. I once suffered with low-self-esteem which led to off and on periods of depression for several years. At some point, I began to wonder why so many of us as women suffer in these areas. I began think about societal influences like TV, entertainment, celebrities, peers, social media, upbringing and so on. There are so many emotional and psychological issues that are birthed from these influences. The enemy has also done a great job convincing women to lessen their value through unhealthy comparisons, competitive jealousy, envy, depression, low-self- worth and poor body image. These negative emotions contribute to the reasons why so many women are depressed, overweight and participate in unhealthy relationships with others and with "self". Yes, I said "self". This is what compelled me to write "Love Yourself Girl". A book designed to help and encourage women from all walks of life to heal, embrace their identity, uniqueness and authenticity.
