"Love You," is the story of a missing teenage girl, Allie, whose family's tragedy sent her into a windfall of pain to find herself again. The betrayal of her father, the heart of her life, devastated Allie. The book addresses mental health problems, addiction to drugs/alcohol, family relationships, a peculiar bus encounter, nursery school events, and therapy sessions. Much of the book focuses on a disassociated relationship between Allie and her younger sister, who was four when a tragedy took place. The author discusses the mental health benefits of animals and emphasizes the importance of society in community health, but does not cover much about remedies and support. In the meantime, Allie meanders between the real world of family, friends, and the comfort world in which she satiates her losses.
