Chris Mellen has been reading and writing poetry around the Worcester and North Shore areas for more than 30 years. Her work has been described as mystical and moving. It is influenced by mythology, Beat, Romantic and feminist poetry, and folk music. She is inspired by nature, philosophy, love, coffee, the Goddess, the Virgin Mary and depth psychology. Her work has appeared in Ballard Street, the Issue and Street Sighns: A Worcester Anthology.She currently lives in Salem, MA with her husband and three cats and when not writing, works as a therapist for a local community mental health agency.
