Pat (Ward) McFarlane showed a passion for poetry as a teen and wrote all the poems within this collection between 1976 and 1981.

However, in 2000, at age 40, Pat succumbed to an extensive battle with Cancer. She left behind five children under 18 years old, who would turn to her poetry as guidance as they transitioned from child to adult. The poems included in this book are a selection of her support, love and guidance to her children, A Mother's Wisdom.

Pat's greatest joy in life was making people smile.
