Welcome to Harvest Falls. Our leaves are gorgeous. Our murder rate is seasonal.
Emery Brooks only came back to Harvest Falls to bury her grandmother, settle the estate, and figure out what to do with the bookstore she inherited.
She definitely did not come back for Wes Dalton.
Unfortunately, her former almost-something is now the town sheriff, still unfairly attractive, still ridiculously protective, and still very capable of getting under her skin.
But Harvest Falls has bigger problems.
Thirty years ago, a local teenager disappeared during the town's beloved Harvest Festival, giving birth to the legend of the Scarecrow Killer. The town did what any completely normal community would do with an unsolved tragedy:
They turned it into a tourist attraction.
Murder tours. Scarecrow merchandise. Festival traditions. An entire economy built around a killer who supposedly vanished decades ago.
Until a body turns up.
Then another.
And when Emery discovers her grandmother spent years quietly investigating the original murders, she and Wes find themselves digging through thirty years of secrets someone is very determined to keep buried.
Now Emery has to survive suspicious locals, questionable traditions, one increasingly terrifying mystery...and the inconvenient realization that she may still be falling for the sheriff.
Because in Harvest Falls, everyone loves a good fall tradition.
Some of them just happen to involve murder.
Welcome to Harvest Falls. Try not to become part of the tradition.
