Love and timelines

In LOVE ME CAREFULLY, author A. C. Arthur introduces readers to the two extremes in the game of love. Terrell Pierce believes in love and he wants it all--career, wife, home and pets--and he has a timeline to achieve it. His timeline gets a little off kilter when he catches his current girlfriend, Tanya, in the throes of passion with another man. Leah Graham, on the other hand, doesn't believe in fairy tales. She doesn't believe in a lasting marriage for that matter. She has a four-step system for how relationships should progress and she has successfully kept all suitors at steps one or two. But, her current beau, Leon, is determined to get beyond step two. Terrell's mother, Rosie, has decided to pursue her own happiness by marrying reported gangster Donald Douglas. As they plan the wedding, Terrell and Leah meet and some definite sparks of interest occur between them. Terrell, unhappy with his mother's choice for a mate, finds out some interesting facts about Donald and he solicits help from Leah as they play amateur sleuths in an effort to save Rosie. They find themselves caught up in a mystery that lands them in a precarious and very dangerous situation. Despite their predicament, Leah is unable to fight her attraction to Terrell and the two end up setting off some heavy fireworks while rescuing Rosie. Arthur has written a very captivating and provocative love story that will linger with you well after the book is closed. Oh, if only my fairy tales could end like this...ho hum. The pace was right on target, the action was very believable, the romance wasn't sickening and the sex scenes were wicked. All this and a nice mystery kept me glued to my seat. Love Me Carefully, an adventurous romance novel by A.C. Arthur. Leah Graham is a successful wedding coordinator who happens to be anti marriage and commitment. Leah grew up with a mother that seemed to get married and have children almost as much as she changed underwear. Given her mother's track record, Leah decided that marriage just wasn't for her because if her mother could do it so often, then it must not be the lifelong commitment she thought it to be. Terrell Piece, a computer geek and workaholic who is devastated by the betrayal of his girlfriend; is at the lowest point in his life when he receives a call from his mother informing him that she is getting married and requesting his presence at her engagement party. Terrell goes home; meets his mother's fiancé and discovers that there is something about the fiancé that he does not trust and is determined to identify what that is. Leah has been hired as the wedding coordinator and in that role, she attends the engagement party. While navigating the room she collides with a tall, dark and handsome man who makes her feel like they are the only two in the room. This is a new feeling for Leah because she does not believe in long lasting relationships. Terrell on the other hand is looking for the perfect wife that will meet his list of requirements. Terrell sets out pursuing Leah and based on her philosophy; she is not interested, but one night he appeals to her kindheartedness and begs for her help with his mother's fiancé. When Leah arrives to help him, she is thrust into a car chase, an undercover stakeout and ultimately a murder. This novel gives you the feel of a typical romance; however, Ms. Arthur has added a twist or two that was totally unexpected. She takes you from a romance to a mystery thriller in a matter of seconds and does so with ease. The characters are funny and amazingly realistic. I had a hard time identifying a protagonist because the storyline was so well developed that any one of the characters could hold ownership to that title. Anyone that reads my reviews are aware that I love a book that can make me laugh. Ms. Arthur's Love Me Carefully had me laughing, anticipating and totally absorbed by her creative writing and imagination.
