Entertaining, Light-Hearted Fun

Smart and funny, "Love Match" is fast-paced, quick-witted, and thoroughly enjoyable. Spunky tomboy Joanna de Mayo narrates her funny tale of growing from a sports-crazed kid with no interest in boys into a competitive tennis star linked with popular jock and rival-turned-boyfriend Rick Hendricks. With humorous dialogue, exciting tennis sequences, plenty of comic relief-filled subplots, and just enough of a feminist edge, the novel both entertains and extols the virtues of hard work, sticking to one's convictions, and ultimately of learning to back away from those convictions in the spirit of compromise. Even the normally irritating youth flashback sequences are enjoyable in this upbeat, winning novel.

In a childish romance Joanna finds Rick, the star of the tennis team. Joanna thinks she is just on cload nine. Rick takes her on picknicks and amusment park rides. As there love thickens they both find out that there anger gets in the way and sends them into breaking up. The ending is a bit dull in the way that you kiss and makeup.I hope my review has been a helpfull one.

good book!

i thought this was a pretty good book. I would reccomend all of Janet Quin-Harkin's books to anyone who loves teen romance. some of her best ones are the Heart Break Cafe series, but every book she writes is good. this book is about a girl who falls for the hot guy on the guy's tennis team.(Rick) rick is mad that there is a girl who can beat him. finally he starts to get over it and asks her out. they have a big fight 'cause they both have really bad tempers and neither wants to back down. what will happen? can one of them suck up there pride and take the first step? find out by reading the book! try all of Janet Quin-Harkin's books!

Good but not great

I usually enjoy Janet Quin-Harkin books but this book was pretty good execpt I didn't like how it ended. I like that Rick broke up with Joanna because of their bad tempers and then went out with Angie. And the ending was how do you say a little corny.
