As far as IR romances go, this is one of the best ones I have read in a very long time. The characters were very believable. Although the book was reminiscent of Octavia Butler's Kindred, it more than held it's own. I can't wait to read her next novel.
'Kindred' for romance fans

Great story! Ms. Douglas truly has a gem here. I've read quite a few books by this publisher, but most have been awful. This is one of the best IR stories I've read. Throw in time travel, and it's Octavia Butler's 'Kindred' with a romance twist. The stories are different, but I liken them to each other b/c of the time travel. At first, I was confused/skeptical because while in Kindred, it was obvious that the characters were switching worlds, this book appeared to have been done as a dream. That was my only point of confusion. Other than that....EXCELLENT!

I read this book in two days because it was that good! The author did a good job of building the main character's backgrounds and conveying the closeness Thor felt for his family as well as with Willow and her adopted family. It was a good mixture of romance with a little bit of suspense that kept my attention as well as a well developed story. Can't wait for this author's next book.
Incredible Story!

Love Lasts Forever was amazing! From the beginning and the closeness of Thor and his family, to his travel into time and meeting the beautiful Willow and his great-great grandparents. It was very well done and with such sincere emotion, from Thor's shock to finding he was transported to the 1860's to dealing with the horror of slavery that suddenly confronted him. Thor and Willow's love story is one for the ages. Grappling the problems of the 1860's while dealing with what it meant to be falling in love with each other and how that love could change so much if one wrong thing kept you wondering what would happen next. It was a wonderful ride with twists and turns to keep you guessing. And Willow's 'Blessed be'! I won't be able to hear or read those words again without smiling. I loved it!

This is a wonderfully written time travel love story. The characters are well developed and the storyline is belivable. It is obvious that the author did research on the 1860 and 1985 time periods used in the story. The writing painted a clear picture for me of what life was like in 1860. While I don't think 1985 Georgia was as color blind as Willow, the heroine, was led to believe, it was a sharp contract to her life in 1860. This story clearly shows how love transcends time and race. This is an author to watch.
