Morbidly Beautiful

I must also say about this book.. what I did of the first one "Love In Vein 1" But his one I even liked a bit better. These tales are fantastically sick. They are not your usual tales of Vampires. They can be very morbid, and in it's morbidness they are beautifully disgusting. I loved them ! They are not for the faint of heart, or squeamish. Some are rather demented, all in all I would not recommend this book to everyone, only those who can appreciate the beauty of sickness.

Definitely spine-tingling, not as erotic as expected

Brite has done an excellent job of collecting a number of vampire and vampire-like short stories to keep readers both entertained and thinking. I especially enjoyed the "Sundered Wineskins" story, which made me think about the nature of God and worship. (Plus, that short story tied in with a short story by the same author in the original "Love in Vein" collection -- how clever!) Not all the stories were as enjoyable; "Dusting the Flowers," for example, was a turn-off and made little sense, since we never got to see precisely what motivated the characters. I did expect more sex, but on the other hand, the physical sensuousness, in its broader term, was there in abundance. Overall an enjoyable book.

This book is a classic in vampire erotica

I couldnt get over how good this book was overall (of course it was edited by Poppy z Brite ) this is one of those books that after you finish reading it you are deeply inspired and wondering about the way the world works you know what I maen? well at any rate I thought this was a wonderful and well written anthology that any fan of Brites would enjoy well hope you like it too. Enjoy!

As far as Vampire Erotica goes, this is fantastic!

I thought Love In Vein II was merely 'okay' until I read Brian Hodge's and Pat Califia's submissions. That's what made this book truly amazing. I highly recomend it, though some parts, I admit, are a little inane and repetitive. Once you get hooked, though (and I know you will!), I suggest following with Brite's collection of short stories, "Wormwood."

I would have to say that this is #1 in it's class. If you love vampires then i highly recommend this. If not and you just have a curious appitite then you should deffinatly read this!
