But with the true source of the low pressure invisible to him, his only option was to fill the tire again to the prescribed level.

Suddenly, he noticed, off to his left, near the old gas station, an odd sight: a large, very furry dog with a long leash that wasn't attached to anything. Mike couldn't take his eyes off this strange scene as he sat down in his seat and closed his door. Was the owner nearby? Is the dog aware he could wander off? He's free but he doesn't seem to know it.
