Jay Chauhan was born in Dar es Salaam where he went to High School. He has studied Economics in England and Germany. Jay is a lawyer practicing in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. He is also called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in England, and an Advocate in the Bar of Gujarat. He completed his studies in law in England and Osgoode Hall of York University. He retired as a Deputy Judge in Ontario after 24 years of service. He is also an economist with degrees from London School of Economics in England and Development Economics from Technical University of Berlin. Jay is a mentor to a number of lawyers and has done mentorship lectures to Tanganyika Law Society and Bermuda Bar Association. He also works with a charity called 'Friends Outreach' to assist the needy in Canada and abroad. He has published many legal articles and won an award as a legal writer from the Ethnic Journalists Association which was presented by the Federal Minister, Jean Augustine, in 2006. This is his first novel.
