Great book, but can be sad

I have 2 children, both daughters, one is 6 and the other is 21 months. In between, my wife miscarried. When we got the book, my oldest daughter was 3. I cried every time I read the book to her because it made me think of the baby we lost. My daughter would cry too, so she ended up hiding the book from me and only letting me read it to her at special times. It has now been 3 years since the miscarriage and I can read the book without crying. It's a good think, because I have to read the book at bedtime repeatedly for about 15 minutes to my 21 month old. She LOVES the book, the tune, and the blinking lights! Every time we get to the end, she says "AGAIN!" and shakes her head yes.

For Grandparents too!

My grand-daughter is 5 years old and loves for me to read this book to her! Since it doesn't mention the word "parents" it can be from grand-parents too.

Get and read this to your little princess!

WOW... this book covers every feeling I have felt since I got pregnant. My daughter is now 9 months old and there is finally a book that speaks MY heart with pictures and a sweet little tune to go with it. the first two pages : "if you weren't my little girl there'd be a hole in the world A piece would be gone! we just couldn't go on The world wouldn't work without YOU!" I read this one over and over the first day we got it. If you like reading books that seem to speak your mind and heart...books that have found words that you had trouble spitting out... THIS treasure is for you! the writing flows and makes it a fun read!

Sweetest Book Ever!

As the father of a little girl, this book has touched my heart more than any other about the joys of having a beloved daughter. I can hardly read it without getting misty. My little girl loves this book, as well as the adorable music, which she recognizes even if I'm humming it. This book reminds me every day how much of a hole there would be in my heart if I didn't have my baby girl. A must for any loving, sensitive parent of a little girl.

Love this book!!

I just love this book from the wonderful rhymes and rhythm to the wonderful music. Many books w/ music seem to have such an irritating mechanical sound, but my 2 year old daughter has even asked to have this turned on as her bedtime music. Also, my daughter is adopted and this book fits perfectly for an adopted child or a birth child. Heidi Weimer says what I feel about my daughter perfectly. I am now buying her book for a boy for my newly adopted son.
