Dylan is a black teen from the South and is grappling with his mental health following a traumatic experience. Using a journal given to him by his high school English teacher as his key coping mechanism, Dylan finds himself experiencing life while also attempting to understand the world he now lives in.

Filled with the introspective, emotional, and fearless words of a teen, Dylan's words reveal what it is to be a queer boy of color growing up in the South and coming to terms with trauma in the 21st century.

Dylan eventually allows the reader to join him on his journey of education and enlightenment as he learns not only how to write about his life and find his voice, but how to heal and strive towards wholeness in a world he chooses to make his own for the first time.

Part narrative fiction and part semi-autobiography, 'Love, Dylan' is an ode to those who suffer from PTSD, those of the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies, and those who refuse to allow life to defeat them.
