Suresh is a surgeon in his early thirties, who for some inexplicable reason, remains unmarried. Usha a nurse, already has a child of her own. Their story- ranges from the sandy beaches of Sri Lanka to the western hills of southern India. It spans three decades and tells the tale of these two young people from different cultures and countries whose paths cross and intertwine. It shares their struggles with a new and strange malady which keeps them apart, and then marvelously bring them together again. It narrates their separate journeys through life and then their brief but exciting walk side by side. It is a sad but poignant portrait of hope amid tragedy.
