I recently read this wonderful book on life. Petra Nemcova shares her climb to the top of super model world, the love she found along the way, and how she almost lost it all during the 2004 tsunami. While Petra is by no means a professional writer, she has an excellent skill in connecting to the reader. She draws the reader in with her recap of what happened on December 26, 2004 as a way to explain her reason for writing the book. Throughout the book the reader is taught simple lessons about how to love and live as a good person. While we can not all jet off to exotic places, we need to take time out for the people we love. Giving back what we earn on some level is another main theme of the book. All and all Petra wants us to accept both good and bad things in life as ways for us to grow into good people. I am thankful that Petra has shared her ups and downs with me. It has given me a whole new outlook on life. Except for the supermodeling career, I don't feel that different from Petra (I too probably would of tried to help the little crab off my leg and onto a tree, while clinging for life in dirty seawater from the tsunami). It is comforting to know that there are people in this world like Petra who want to help. As we climb up in this world, we always need to remember to give back to others as well as enjoy what we have. At any moment it could be swept away. Buy this book new because 100% of the proceeds will go towards Petra's Happy Hearts foundation which is helping to save the children who were victims of the 2004 tsunami. Thanks Petra.

An enjoyable, moving, and inspirational novel.

I bought this book over the weekend at the book store after hearing that it was released. I finished it within 2 days because it was such a sincere story and an honest one too. Basically, I just kept on reading. I must admit that it was hard not to shed a tear on some parts of the novel. It was a touching story to tell of such a brave young lady and a loving man, Simon. I admire her for the hardwork and devotion to helping the victims of the Tsunami. Plus, the proceeds of the book goes to charity.

I loved this book! It was really hard to put it down at night so I usually fell asleep with it in my hands. I appriciate a lot more that I have in my life now that I read this book. Petra is a good role model. She's been through a lot and if you read this book you will agree that she has a lot of courage.

This book is a must read. It's written really well by Petra Nemcova, the beautiful supermodel caught in the tsnami tradgedy almost a year ago. It recalls everything from her life before hitting the big time, and her relationship with her photographer boyfriend who unfortunately perished in Thailand. It's moving and gripping and you'll shed a tear. She's one brave girl. She was even told that she may never walk again. Go get this and read it. You won't be able to put it down. It will make you appreciate the gifts in your life that you should be grateful for.

I admire Petra for her courage that she has since the tsunami tragedy in Thailand. In the book she discusses this but she also lets us in on her life through the Czech Repulbic with the communist rule. Her parents and sister and her modelling career. She is very sincere and honest. This is a great book. I love it very much. It's also very easy to read. By the end of the night I was more than half way through the book.
