Hugh Lloyd Nevin, Frederic Lindley Morgan, and their partners practiced architecture together for almost half a century. From 1921 to 1970, they designed many of Louisville's most noted homes, many churches, and such landmarks as the Pendennis Club and the Independence Life and Accident Insurance building. While they were willing and able to design in the modern style, they were among a group of architects across the country who had been trained in the classical tradition and preserved those standards against the onslaught of the International Style.
