In the adult world, keys gives one access to things. Things we own. Things we can be shut out of. These stories were written for children but as life unfolded, this author knew the subject matter would be more suited for adults with children. She discovered that they were all written at different grade levels. She put them in order from easiest to hardest in hopes that adults learning to read, might enjoy these better than reading children's books. A chance to regain the lost keys of reading for fun. It starts at the first grade level and gets harder from there.
