Lost Hero

By Adrian Cox

The day his father died, Julio died too. What remained was a quiet, hollow version of a man, shuffling through Seville, checking spreadsheets, calling his mother, existing without ever truly living. Grief wasn't something he carried. It was everything he was.

Then his father's journal arrives, full of careful notes and a lifelong dream never fulfilled. The ancient rainforest of Queensland's Daintree. A promise made and broken by circumstance.

Julio will keep it for him.

What begins as an act of love becomes something far more desperate as the jungle closes in around him. Lost, injured, and utterly alone, the boundary between Julio's comic book heroes and the world trying to kill him begins to dissolve. In the Daintree, superheroes and reality merge into one, and a man who never knew who he was must finally face that question with everything on the line.

Is he here to find something, or to lose himself?
