This book is dedicated to my good friend, Kerry L. Marzock. Kerry has been an inspiration since the first time I met her. Our closeness/sisterhood was instantaneous and mutual. Together, we have and continue to weather storms and hold each other up in the best and worst of them. I really don't know how I ever made it without Kerry. She is one of the most genuine, giving, honest people I've ever met who loves animals as much as I do and considers writing like breathing. So I dedicate this book to Kerry because of her accepting me for who I am, flaws and all, and seeing the real me on the inside, not the outside where makeup can cover scars. Kerry has seen the worst of me, heard me cry and scream and pant in silence and isolate, but she always remained there in the background as one of my greatest cheerleaders and I love her in the short time we've known one another, which feels like forever. And it will always be forever in my heart.
