Lost Bayou

Gal is helplessly adrift in her own life. But after a mysterious call from her estranged father, Pop, Gal journeys out into the Atchafalaya Basin to check in on her father, who has been living in seclusion on a houseboat as a Cajun faith healer. Once on his houseboat, Gal makes a disturbing discovery: the corpse of a mysterious young woman tucked into his bed. Upon further investigation, Gal discovers that Pop, delusional and bereaved, believes this mystery woman's corpse to be that of his late wife and Gal's mother, MAW, who died three years prior.

Struggling with how to manage their strained bond, Gal reluctantly joins Pop on his journey across the Basin to bury his "wife" in the family plot, hoping she can snap him back to reality in the process. What follows is a literal and spiritual journey across the Atchafalaya Basin where both Gal and her father are forced to reckon with the grief they've been trying so desperately to suppress.
