Loss of Direction

One evening, after much deliberation, Andrew sat down at his kitchen table and began to write.

Dear Eleanor,
I hope this letter finds you and the kids well. I've thought about you every day since we parted, and I want to thank you for the years we shared. I know I let you down in ways I can never fully repair, but I want you to know how deeply I regret the pain I caused.

My life has taken a new path. I've found stability again-work that challenges me, a community that supports me, and a sense of peace I never thought I'd feel. I'm not writing to ask for forgiveness or reconciliation. I'm writing because I want you to know I'm okay, and I hope someday, you and the kids will find it in your hearts to be okay, too.

He folded the letter and placed it in an envelope but didn't address it. It wasn't about sending it-it was about closure.
