Here's a Real Turkey That came Home to Roost!

Ah Jerry, next time please don't use 4th graders to edit your book; at least move up to the 6th grade!...am certain they would have caught the difference between the cover's "Loss Legends...." and the title page's "Lost Legends...and why did you need to repeat Chapter 7 verbatim in Chapter 20?...I grew up in Southeast Missouri. My aunt Meanie and uncle Butch had a thriving garage and lived in Gordonville from the 20's thru the 50's and son Rollie was still hanging around those parts when I left...I grew up on my uncle Bill's farm about 5 miles down 25 from Gordonville and as a teenager, played baseball across the creek down past Gordonville's center...oh yeah, another relative owned the Feed and General Store in "downtown Gordonville" which covered ~1/4 mile along Gordonville Rd...now, to your "Book"...not sure you were ever in or near Gordonville...the way you described going from Cape to Jackson and then somehow meander onto the "Old Gordonville Road" makes no sense...I also spent some time in school in Chafee then High School in Jackson, in my youth fished Hubble Creek and went to the Dutchtown Mill with uncle Bill....and on to the Navy at the start of the Korean war...don't really want to rain on your parade Jerry, but your stories are, as you rightly suggest some might really be of 'whole cloth'...but my biggest complaint is that the book was sloppily put together...and my money spent on it could have better been flushed down the drain! Now I understand you have chosen this pursuit as a way to 'make a buck'. But for heaven's sake, Jerry. at least read it over yourself and make certain the spelling matches the telling! /s/ Don Johnsen, an admirer of everything Southeast Missouri did and does offer.
