The Perfect Pitch: Life in the Vortex of Los Alamos
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
Phyllis Fisher has written a book which brilliantly, humorously, fills in the gaps of other historical treatments of Los Alamos during the development of the atomic bomb there. My time there was in the mid-50s, when this section of the 'wild west' was a bit more tame and conveniences were as absolute as in any other small town in the US. It is a beautifully written book which shares deeply with the reader. I have read many fictional and non-fiction treatments of the Los Alamos experience, but I think Phyllis found the perfect pitch. Thanks so much!
