Wonderful Resource for Waldorf Inspired Homeschoolers!

It is of utmost importance in these early years to foster the flexibility the child's feet. The arch of the foot begins to form at about the age of five. This be helped by encouraging the children to pick things up with their such as marbles, handkerchiefs, little sticks, also daisies on the lawn. walking on the toes, on the heels, on the outside and on the inside of the feet - also drawing and writing with the feet. All these exercises can be carried out in an imaginative way so that they bring fun and laughter. Flat-footedness inhibits a good upright posture and can cause backache and headaches when the child is older. Nylon socks, nylon shoe lining, synthetic or ill-fitting shoes tend prevent healthy growth and mobility of the feet and thus the child's learning ability could also be affected. The feet tell us eloquently about the child's state. Teachers need to 'read' their message and 'see' them as well as the children's' shining faces. If necessary, advise parents of the care needed for the feet if children are to go through school without too many health and learning difficulties.This book covered so many aspects of what makes a day pleasurable vs. what can ruin a child's day... With lessons and verses and form drawing - I highly recommend it! ...
