Looking for home

Looking for home is a collection of poetry and prose. It came to me like a traveller who found an oasis walking through a desert.It is a reflection of the aching and the pain I carried with me.That I did not address in time.It is a conversation I had denied myself for far too long. But we can only run so far before our souls begin to protest.There are conversations we need to be able to have to reunite with ourselves-to come back to who we are.I had been uncomfortable-a refugee in my own body,and it's a truth I was tired of denying.I have shed myself over and over to reach this state of being a home in myself. I had been building homes in others while abandoning my own.Before you grow the gardens of others you must tend to your own.It is time we embraced ourselves in our light and our darkness. It is time we made these bones this skin these bodies our homes.
