Looking For Home

I am a grandmother who loves to read young adult novels. I was brought to tears when reading Looking For Home. What a brave girl Daphne was. Jean Ferris knows people's feelings and when Daphne found the job waitressing in T. Peter's restaurant, she found someone who was caring and loving. There are people in the world who care and Junior Lee, the cook, was also loving as was the artist Mattie, who loves her solitary life. Wait until you read this wonderful book and see how all these people play a part in Daphne and her baby's life. I wish the book hadn't ended. Jean would you write the sequel? Please?

Sensitive handling of important issue

This book tells the story of Daphne, a young woman who leaves her abusive home when she discovers she is pregnant. Jean Ferris does not moralize: she does not skip over the obvious anguish every young woman must feel when she is such a situation, nor does she whitewash Daphne's difficulties in learning to trust and depend on the friends she gradually allows in her life. A very, very good book on a very important topic.

A Great Book!!

This book tells the risks of young age pregnancy
