One of the most important singer-songwriters of all time continues to create timeless music. This album-matching folio contains: Looking East * The Barricades of Heaven * Some Bridges * Information Wars * I'm the Cat * Culver Moon * Baby How Long * Nino * Alive in the World * It Is One.
I've always liked Browne's music especially the ones where he writes about social issues. This CD is not as political or even social as "Black and White" or "Worlds in Motion"; I'd call it a more "spiritual" music of Jackson's. The first song "Looking East" talks about spiritual hunger of individuals and society. "Alive in the World" is another typical Jackson-style song with a very pleasant tune and a positive theme. However, the last song "It is One" is probably the most outstanding one; he sings about the world being "one," which may sound somewhat "cliche" and yet this simple song beats in our hearts with such beauty and hope.
