There is an indefinable urge to always take a last look. It is difficult to leave what was behind, for it has marked us in some way. Look One Last is my final book of poetry. It succumbs to the urge... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Creating poetry books, developing themes, writing for those themes, it's all been interesting and fun. But the reasons I started doing poetry books have been satisfied, and there's no compulsion to continue making the books. This is my last book of poetry. As such it poetically takes a last look at things - hence the title. I will still continue to look at things, but more in a story format. It's a lot more work, but it's the next logical step in the progression. Look One Last is divided into four sections: The Warming Yellow, The Heat, The Cooling Gray, The Freeze. If it seems to go from the inane to the somber, then you have grasped its significance. However, even within each segment, there is humor to be found, for without humor the journey becomes painful. In some ways, I feel like the poetry books have come full circle. From Here to Never was the first and it dealt a lot with the midlife crisis theme. Look One Last has more of an acceptance of time pushing us along feel to it.
