Look at Us, Lord is a beautiful book by a beautiful man, Robert Marshall Haven, an Episcopal priest who lived in upstate New York for most of his 81 years. The book consists of poetic prose vignettes of people and situations Haven encountered in the pastoral ministry. These are sketches of people and places and situations that only a minister might see. The book is full of compassion and grounded fully in personal experience. One does not need to be an Episcopalian to feel the humane voice and vision informing these lovely prose poems. The book sold some 5,000 copies in its initial press run and deserves a second printing.
