Well crafted true crime writing.

I read this book not knowing very much about what spree killers are, and along the way I learned an awful lot about them and what makes them tick. The book looks at a series of case histories, some of the British but mostly from the US. Each case had detailed biographies of these killers and covered in gruesome detail their horrenmdous acts of spree killing. As well as the case histories there are good sections of the beliefs and motivations of these men, including a lot of stuff about neo-Nazis and religious fanatics. Its a good read and bound to become the standard work on a subject that just won't go away. Well recommended.
