Absolutely Hilarious Little Book!

I ordered this as a present for my niece who just turned 11 years old. As soon as she opened it, she was caught reading some of the bible stories for the next 10 minutes! No one in the room could put it down! When you first get it, it seems very short with a lack of information. However, the amount of stories exceeded much over what I expected! Pros - Hilarious! You can make references to the real bible and compare, which is fun It makes religion a little bit more fun when reading this, and then their minds are refreshed with the real story! Compact, but a lot of information! Cons - It takes a little getting used to when you first start reading it because of how it is written, but this isn't a big problem!

Hysterical!

I must say, I bought this book with an accidental click on my kindle, BUT, the second I started reading I was laughing my head off. It is hysterical... srsly! if you like lolcats it'll be funny - if you like lolcats and are even the least bit familiar with any of the bible stories (genesis, noah,etc) it'll be even funnier.

Hilarious Book; Great Pictures (From Author)

One may wonder why the author of the book is reviewing the book. Normally, I would shy away from any such thing, but the fact is that the LOLCat Bible is something that was a collective effort. I started the website, and along side thousands of other people, we translated the Bible into LOLSpeak. So much of this book was not, in fact, written exclusively by me (though I edited the entire book and made sure the lolspeak was consistent, and even wrote some of it for the book exclusively). Editing the book made me realize that it is, in fact, hilarious. Some people may feel daunted by the amount of text in this book that is in lolspeak, but once you get used to it, it is actually a breeze to read. Also, the book actually contains more pictures than the actual website (as a proportion of text) and all of the images were handpicked for this book from scratch. If you are a fan of LOLCats, you'll enjoy this. You'll get all the inside jokes and all of the references to your favorite LOLCat memes. From John 11:25-26, "25. But Happy Cat was all, 'No no no, I can has bukkit. An if yu beleev, yu too can has bukkit. 26. An if yu can has bukkit, yu can has no ded, if yu can has a beleef in Happy Cat. Srsly.'" How about Mark 14:22 "22. Wen dey wer nommin Happy Cat taek teh cheezburger an brek it, an he sez, 'Taek dis cheezburger an eet it, cuz dis liek mah bodi. But dun reely nom me. Just nom teh cheezburger an pretend it mah bodi. K?'" The pictures are also great. For example, one pictures shows two cats laying in the sun in a garden, and the caption reads: "Oh hai, yu can has frend. She liek yu but missin somefings." If you were someone who grew up with the Bible, you may appreciate the fresh angle this book gives the scriptures. Sometimes it even illuminates what the text may actually mean, which is really cool. I've had one seminary student tell me the LOLCat Bible helped him remember some of Bible for a test he was taking! The book itself is very well made. it is fully colored, glossy, and the images look crisp. The compact size makes it comfortable to carry around and show your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and maybe even your preacher. One of the coolest things is seeing how various people react to it. In addition, Happy Cat's words are printed in red, for easy reference. Overall, it's well put together and was a blast to both put together and read. I think every time I pick it up I discover a tidbit that really, honestly, makes me laugh. It's awesome seeing how creative people were in this effort, and it is a pleasure to see it in book form.
