This teaching material is designed to teach first year university students the basics of the propositional logic and set theory. The first unit discuss about propositional logic. The goal of this unit is to teach the concept of propositional logic, logical connectives, quantifiers and arguments.In the second unit, we turn our attention to set theory and discus about description of sets and operations of sets. This material is prepared to teach first year students .In this material propositional(mathematical) logic and set theory are discussed .In propositional logic, explanation is given for logical connectives, open proposition, quantifiers, mixed quantifiers, arguments and their proofs . In set theory, I will discuss the descrption of set, relation on sets, operation on sets, venn diagrams
