Between 1960 and 1961, the Cuban writer Lino Nov?s Calvo published eleven articles in the magazine Bohemia Libre, the main purpose of which was to denounce and unmask the Cuban government's official discourse. Nevertheless, he wasn't just practicing muckracking journalism; rather, they are a lucid analysis of what he called the process of elimination of a democracy. This book gathers those articles, about which the historian Rafael Rojas has said: "Lino Nov?s Calvo was not, of course, the first or last writer who warned about [Cuba's] communist radicalization, but he was someone who did it with great eloquence and precision".
